Do you have lift-widgets module as a dependency in your pom.xml?

    <dependency>
      <groupId>net.liftweb</groupId>
      <artifactId>lift-widgets</artifactId>
      <version>1.1-SNAPSHOT</version>
    </dependency>

That's needed to get the dropdown widget code.
