On Safari i get "Error: NO_MODIFICATION_ALLOWED_ERR: DOM Exception 7". This seems to be a safari 4 specific problem due to content-type text/ html+xml. See http://groups.google.com/group/jquery-en/browse_thread/thread/de95e8adf9c0ffb7
