Just reporting my experience for anyone who wants to live on the bleeding edge... for a limited use case (I only use lift-webkit, and probably only a small subset of that), the 280_port seems to be working well enough with a recent Scala 2.8 snapshot (once I applied the fix to a Scala class that was linked to here: http://groups.google.com/group/liftweb/browse_thread/thread/e057a269f8f6a9ca# )
