Hi Angelique
I agree with you that many Bible translations are misguided, especially the
"new" ones. They distort many of the teachings to reflect the "new" age.
Actually many new agers use the Bible to support their theories but only
when it is convenient. But real Bible students know that with a King James
Bible and a Strom's Bible Concordance you translate back to the original
text (the old testament was written in Hebrew and the new was written in
Greek). So the notion that the Bible is not accurate is a bit misguided.
Dr Ivan Panin, a Harvard mathematician, fluent in Hebrew and Greek in the
late 1800s mathematically proved the Bible could not have been written by a
man. Note that both Greek and Hebrew use letters as numbers as well as
sounds. So each word has a numerical value. He stated that the 66 books of
the Bible were written with amazing mathematical design and could not have
been written by a man. Panin was considered by the Nobel Research
Foundation and submitted 43,000 sheets containing his research. He also
challenged Bible critics to refute his claim through the New York Sun
Newspaper. Panin died in 1942 and no one has refuted his claim. Most all
his works have since been lost but a few of his works are still available
through the Book Society of Canada in Ontario.
And the only agenda the Bible has is to warn of future events and to teach
man how to live a moral and just life. Without a moral and just man -
society doesn't work. And if take a good look around you that is what is
happening now. Our lack of morality and justice is crumbling the US - and
all for the sake of the almighty dollar!
What is wrong with Christianity? Well, Christians have a strong belief
system - they believe in God and try to follow his teachings. The way to
live is written and all you got to do as an individual is follow. But when
the government around you starts using terms as "Society" and "Community"
and "New World Order" and "New Age" and "Spirituality" - I could go on on.
But my point is - Who do you think has a problem with Christianity?
Kristian
