Atlantis was around for a loooong time, and evolved - as any culture or
civilization will do. While there were many differences in the details
of technology, biology and the like, there are many parallels between the
final end-times of Atlantis and our current state of affairs - their
infrastructure and economies were such that many were supported in
non-survival-
related endeavours - the arts, science, politics, etc., as well as having
developed
the ability to end life as they knew it.
It matters dearly that we remember the lessons of the end-times of Atlantis,
in that many, many of us were there. We made some "bad" choices that time
(bad in the sense that they were not in our greatest mutual good), and
picked up
some significant "karma" (for lack of a better term) that we are about to
have
a chance to release - if we haven't released it already (on an individual
level).
We have been given many lifetimes to prepare to make different choices this
time.
