It depends upon the conditioning of the individual. A conditioned
unfree mind distorts perception of value by associating it with
something/sometime else. We all do this. An example would be me really
wanting to spend time with some girl I just met, because I was jealous
of my friends who have girlfriends. Another example would be enjoying
driving a car more if I owned it.
I think the same applies to the Mona Lisa. If one gets less enjoyment
from a perfect copy, solely because he/she knows it is a copy, then
his/her enjoyment of the art is superficial. If the copy was illegal,
one may want to do something about it; but that does not take away the
inherent beauty. A judgemental mind says "I can't believe this is a
crappy copy" vs. a quiet -- yet active -- mind taking in the
reality/beauty/value/quality/truth freely.
