Hi LS,
April's topic:
H.N.Brailsford has said "the crude issue of power... is always the
last of the realities that sensitive and reasonable men can bring
themselves to face".
What, if anything, does the Metaphysics of Quality have to say about
the realities of power. ]

To the questions:
#1Kevin asked: > Will Lila Squad dedicate itself to changing
these egregious
                                >realities of power, or will it merely
say, 'So be it.'?
#2 Michele asked: >What can Moq suggest at this point, when war
is being waged ?
                                >Or do the Moq people wait-and-see and
then say what's what ?
                                >Will Moq survive the Kossovo war ?

D. Thomas responded:
                                He quoted from Lila:
                                >"Morality is not a SIMPLE set of rules.
It is a very complex struggle of
                                >CONFLICTING patterns of value" L-P 193.

It is a delicate balance and, as John B. has pointed out, the discussion
is severely obstructed by the limitations of our LANGUAGE. We are
looking at 'the FLUX OF REALITY' with a very powerful tool. The flux of
reality is there for us to perceive, to control the FLUX will be like
"(tapar la luz immenza del sol con un dedo)....translated...."To try to
cover the Sun brightness with one finger". Remember (Was it Plato or
Socrates...?)'s Cave experiment. As you might recall from that example.
He talks about lifetime prisoners who living in a cave, had never been
to the surface. What they do see of reality is the projection of shadows
casted over a screen. The shadows are projected by the help of a FIRE
held behind a cloth curtain. One of the prisoners manages to come up to
the top, to the outside and is 'blinded' momentarily by all that FLUX of
reality. The Sun blinds him. Still he goes back down to the cave and
tries to explain to the others.........
My point is that reality is there, sometimes we wish it was different
but it is hard to control. We do the best we can to survive.

The answers to those two questions and similar ones, is a problem that
has taken civilized men of the hierarchy ( hight) of GHANDI, R.
GRAVES, H. D. THOREAU, R.M. PIRSIG (to name a few...), their lifetime's
work. It is a very noble task and full of the highest level of Quality
to undertake , but we do have to be realistic and size our limitations.
I would love to see in my lifetime the 'magic wand' that will give the
Midas touch to our civilization. I am not saying that we are not good
enough, I am just saying that is not a SIMPLE over-one-month task.

I mentioned before that the MOQ, among other things, has given me HOPE.
To me, for now, unfortunately my LS friend 'that' is good enough.
Reality has a way to hit you, and it does gives you a severe doses of
paralysis. That paralysis sometimes is called a moment of temporary
insanity. You go into a "CULTURE OF ONE". You go into a shell and try to
heal yourself. It is nice to find a group like the LS to pour out those
frustrations and give you company on the way. We might have to invent a
whole new language, our current language has its limitations. And at the
same time is very Powerful. We all meet our fair share of frustrations
on a daily basis, but to have found a Philosophy or a way of life that
gives you HOPE among the atrocities, that my friends, in any Language is
a Miracle, that to me is Power.

On the key-note of HOPE, I will like to quote :
"The pencil is mightier than the Pen". R.M. P. p.261 Lila.
A close spanish saying goes like this "Borron y cuenta nueva" = " Erase
and start new" (or 'Let's get a clean slate'), is a moment of TRUCE to
clear up our thoughts and begin again. Some of you want to give up
talking about this month's topic. I urge those among you to reconsider
and get the biggest eraser you can find and star new. We are only half
of way through the month anyway.

Be happy,
Carmen.
