The history of this patch indicates that it _never_ passed the normal Patchy testing. The patch was _changed_ with comment #20. This comment falsely claims "still passes make check": the point of "make check" as opposed to "make test" is to do a visual _comparison_ to the baseline. This comparison shows _abysmal_ differences.

The state of the Patch after the change was _not_ reset to Patch-new. Instead it was kept on Patch-review _without_ getting Patchy coverage, and was then promoted to Patch-countdown on the _same_ day, without getting tested, after a _significant_ change of code.

I am reverting the respective commit to get back to a clean slate.
