I've just been struggling with this problem and one other - that Windows users _must_ replace the backslash with a slash, otherwise using something like -dinclude-settings=""""D:\Music"""" causes scheme to complain about the \M control character. I do think a small separate section on the windows command line requirements could save a whole lot of work for windows users.
