Currently it is based on 10:04 Desktop (with some extra utilities thrown in
over and above the pre-reqs for compiling. Geany editor for instance.
10:04 is 'LTS' until (according to Wikipedia anyway) 2013-04
I have been looking into 11:04 for LilyDev 3.x at the moment only because
at time of testing, 12:04 didn't have a version of remastersys available
for it. This is the tool that LilyDev 2.x now comes installed with, and
makes it easy for any non technical person person to just download a copy
of lilydev, add 'new stuff' as needed and then make a remix of their own
without having to install Ubuntu 'fresh'.
Also there are also strong feelings around fopr Gnome 3 (or Unity or
whatever it is called), and maybe a better way to go is to use Xubuntu or
Lubuntu - esp for those that run in VMs on lesser powered machines).
