Note I haven't easily managed to compile git master on Squeeze, which has a too old fontforge; OTOH this issue doesn't show in Sid (Debian unstable), so if there is the slightest doubt about the proposed patch, I'll withdraw it.
Could there also be one additional week for countdown?
