I added the bin target in response to a number of users asking for it. An example of a dev finding it useful is https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-devel/2012-07/msg00043.html. TBH I can't see the point of make bin-clean, and only added this report because I was on bug duty that day.
