It would be possible, but before we decide to do this let's be sure we've
identified the problem correctly. If you play around a bit with attaching
footnotes to left and right endpoints you'll see that the extents are
correct,
but the locations are as if the beam is attached to the following note. Is
this what you would expect from the way automatic beams work?
