Between 2.16.0 and 2.17.2, LilyPond has begun to hang (at least on WinXP)  
on this input

  { \override NoteHead #'stencil = ##f b2 b  }

Two notes, one with a stem, are required to experience the problem.
Not realistic input, so maybe not of practical concern, but it would be  
wise to find the cause.
