According to discussion and reasoning on Rietveld, I am putting the
submission process of this patch on hold until other, likely favorable
developments with competing concepts have had a reasonable chance to
progress to a state of consideration.
The state "Patch-abandoned" is described as "Patch submitter does not
appear to be active" which is probably a bit inaccurate, but seems like the
closest match in meaning that will keep the Patch from further review for
now. I am retaining ownership of this issue, however.
