Is there no intention to either fix display-lily or (preferred as it will not effect existing clefs and their representation) not set an unneeded property in the default case?
I consider it strange that reported problems in the regtests are being ignored (there has been a short exchange on the developer list concerning this problem) and the patch is put on countdown.
