Putting this tentatively on countdown for 2012/02/09 16:00 UTC. It would be nice if there were some more coherence with the cited \override documentation and if the relation to actual context or layout properties would be clearer. If nobody can contribute useful information here, it is not a showstopper, but it might be a cause for future interface changes. So getting an understanding of those might help providing a stable interface.
