It may be worth noting that the snippet still throws quite a few of programming errors (not related to this issue, however). Those might warrant a separate issue, though beaming without a beam engraver is worth some warning. The question is just whether we can be certain enough to be talking about user error here to just put out an ordinary warning rather than a programming error.
