It's actually quite hard to find examples of hand-drawn flags - I believe
they started to be used about the time printing was beginning, and so a lot
of flags are rather like those typically used in the 19th century - just
straight lines. There are a few in the Eton choirbook, and I attach an
image showing some of them. Other example images would be welcome.
