Either produce the previous programming error currently as a warning (I
think a commit of Keith in a different issue is responsible for that).
The output might be not what is intended by the original code, but there is
no segfault involved.
Maybe this is a duplicate issue regarding the crash? At any rate I'm
changing its type.
