In analogy to issue 3487, replace all the "talking" names for articulations
with symbols created with (string->symbol "-.") and friends. That would
save people from having to look them up themselves.
Also survey whether there are more characters which could and/or should be
treated in the same manner (characters that are one-character shorthands,
like | and ~, are not eligible).
