Well, that regtest remains awfully hard to interpret sensibly. This
regression fix does not try to maintain consistency of measure position and
meter at the _end_ of the last alternative with the state at the
_beginning_ of the first alternative. Which is sort of "doh".
That regtest irritates me quite a bit, but it did so before the first
change, too. I have no idea what a "correct" version could look like.
