Update on the status of this issue: adapting the patch from issue 3239
(which would allow solving this issue) to current version of LilyPond is
not completely trivial, and we would anyway need to discuss it;
unfortunately i don't have time to do this now. If someone would like to
take over it, i could offer some guidance.
If noone steps in, this patch and the patch for 3239 will probably wait
until i have more time (no idea when this happens).
