The example in
http://www.lilypond.org/doc/v2.18/Documentation/learning/other-uses-for-tweaks
now gives incorrect advice for tying notes across voices.

Oh, looking at this I find the example is actually _wrong_.
The second image shows the side-effect of setting transparent = ##f
to the tie formatting.
This is exactly why you should use Stem.stencil = ##f and
Flag.stencil = ##f (or \omit for both).
\omit should be used.
