\tag foo.bar can be used only when both foo and bar are valid identifiers
for LilyPond. Same holds for \tag foo of course.
I am not sure whether or not we advertise \tag foo (including the warning
about not using, say, violin1 here). If we don't, talking about foo.bar
would seem uncalled for.
