So you rather meant something like
The categories of rests, skips, and multi-measure rests are not merged
with one another even when beginning and ending simultaneously.
Then the information is left as an exercise to reader to figure out what
happens to simultaneous skips, and what happens to simultaneous
multi-measure rests.
