Well, I've gone a little further than just "avoiding a macro at top
level". I've managed to avoid macros altogether, and made inroads into
establishing a framework for generating built-in templates. There are a
number of issues yet to be resolved, and as someone rather inexperienced in
Scheme, the code I've used is quite simplistic. It could doubtless be
written more elegantly by others on this list. Even the approach I've
adopted might be far from optimum. With those caveats in mind, while what
I have done to replace satb.ly works fine, I think this is a good time to
seek comment and further input. So the patch I shall shortly upload is not
a candidate for immediate incorporation in the code base, but rather for
others to help me refine it.
