I think that David's comment and issue 1451 are slightly different. 1451
says that parentheses need to have the same y-extent as the grob they are
enclosing. David's comment says that when a chord (not a chordname) is
being parenthesized, the grob to be enclosed is the whole set of noteheads,
not each notehead individually.
