I think that articulate messes up even the normal definition of
\acciaccatura and it shouldn't.
However, a bar check will not work before an _expanded_ version of an
acciaccatura as it takes time from before the bar. \articulate is going to
go to Midi, so it seems like a reasonable approach to completely disable
bar checks in Midi. In connection with grace notes, they will only really
fit the typesetting.
