Indeed, it would be nice to have the fresh 1.8.1 rpm-packages available also for Mandrake. > > the compilation breaks with this > > > > /thac > > ./out-/dev/vc//../../flower/out-/dev/vc//library.a -lkpathsea > > -lintl -lguile -lcrypt -lm > > c++: ./out-/dev/vc//../../flower/out-/dev/vc//library.a: No such file or > > directory Looks like the directory here for some reason is wrong. I had the same error some time ago, but one day it was just disappeared. A check $ locate library.a ~/rpm/BUILD/lilypond-1.8.0/flower/out/library.a ~/lilypond/flower/out/library.a shows that these files should be in a different directory (without `-', at least), which is propably present only during compiling. > > make[1]: *** [out-/dev/vc//lilypond] Error 1 > > rm out-/dev/vc//lexer.cc out-/dev/vc//parser.cc > > make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/tobbe/rpm/BUILD/lilypond-1.8.0/lily' > > make: *** [all] Error 2 > > error: Bad exit status from /home/tobbe/rpm/tmp/rpm-tmp.65845 (%build) > > > > it doesnt matter which vewrsion of lilypond itry to compile > any clue where the problem is located.? > > /thac Maybe there is already a workaround, which made the problem disappear from me. After downloading 1.8.1, it was possible to make the rpms, with the spec-file which is included in the source-file.
