This is the final goal.

Rather trivial -- note that I'm in contact with the mf2pt1 author,
Scott Pakin; meanwhile I've heavily modified the program to do what I
want and submitted the changes to Scott.  I believe that when I'm
done, a new mf2pt1 release will be available which can be directly
used from CTAN.
