Have you figured out how to do this yet?
It seems that many of us have modified the default configuration
of dvips and forgot that the default is to send the output directly
to the printer, not to save it to the file.
The instructions at
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.6/Documentation/user/out-www/lilypond/An-example-of-a-musicological-document.html
are still highly relevant, only that you need one extra flag to
dvips to make it save the output PostScript to file:
dvips -Ppdf -o -h lilybook.psfonts lilybook
Please also keep this mailing list for discussions specifically
related to the development versions (2.7.x) and use lilypond-user
for ordinary usage questions like this one.

Graham Percival suggested that i should use :
dvips -h out/new/psfonts out/new.dvi -o
(or even specify -o out/new.ps )
which in other wordes translates to dvips -h new.psfonts new.dvi, because
lilypond book doesn't create a directory for the psfonts, instead it creates
new.psfonts and suggests to use this command : DVIPS usage:
dvips -h out/new.psfonts out/new.dvi which translates to
dvips -h new.psfonts new.dvi if you invoke it in the output directory.
Graham sugested that i should use -o and specify a file called new.ps
in other words : dvips -h new.psfonts new.dvi -o new.ps which gave me this output:
This is dvips(k) 5.95a Copyright 2005 Radical Eye Software (www.radicaleye.com)
dvips: ! DVI file can't be opened.

I am shure the problem is very trivial. But for most of us which are new to
lilypond all this coding, this lots of different software involved in creating
the final file ( lilypond, dvips, latex, phyton) is sometimes too much. I am
sorry if i am bugging you with stuped questions, but i really need help, and I
don't know other place where should I ask.
Thank you.
