At line 85 the tar command should be with options -xjf and NOT -xzf.
Apparently the file is in bzip2 format and not in gzip.
The entire line should be this:
tail -c+000000001411 $0 | tar -C $lilydir -xjf
That has been noted on the LilyPond user list but even that doesn't fix
it for me.
Does it fix it for you?
