I think there is a small typo in the documentation-adding page.
In the sentence "Ask on the lilypond-devel mailist if such a rewrite is
necessary." I presume you meant maillist (or mail list) instead of mailist.
Thanks, fixed. I wish that everybody would standardize on mail-list or
maillist or whatever.
