Please try without wildcards. IIRC these are not case sensitive, strangely
enough. So,
ls Page-layout-twopass.ly
should return "Page-layout-twopass.ly".

You can -- for now -- use the more obscure parts of git:
git update-index --force-remove Page-layout-twopass.ly
Again, please check with `git status` that all is well.
