2008/3/5, Bertalan Fodor <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Hi Bert, congrats for this project! Having once given other Scheme-java implementations a (superficial) try, I have to fully approve you -- these implementations are nowhere near GUILE-compatible.
> My goals are: > - have bar checks work really as bar checks (using Duration objects etc.) Oh yes! We really do need those :) > - have autocompletion in Scheme Looking forward to giving it a try... > - perhaps some visual display of music written - I don't know how feasible > is this without implementing all of LilyPond in Java I don't know what you're thinking about, but it sounds quite thrilling. Off-topic: I already told you about some possible interface improvements I believed in; I'm kind of a newbie at all that, but I keep learning everyday :) What about (as I once suggested) starting by making the JPedal window dockable into jEdit's perspective; this way users could have an immediate (and maybe nearly-real-time, for smallest scores) visual preview of what they're typing? We'll talk about that on lily4jedit mailinglist, but your "visual display" thing made me remember about that.
