your implementation of the markup functions categorizing is simply
wonderful!
I do have a question though: is there a way to prevent the categories
from appearing in an alphabetic order?
I've commited a fix: set the order in file scm/document-markup.scm
(there is a comment describing what to do).
If a category is not found in the ordered list, it will be added
at the end, so you will see it anyway.
