Aaron, it would be good to earn some respect here, presumably by
contributing something others benefit from, before you give up the respect
already.

David might not be the most polite person on earth, but he did at least
something useful before he went on to bash you.

And from your choice of words and willingness to write an email rather
than do something about the original issue, I would agree with David's
criticism in content, if not in form.

You are correct, I did not feel like reading more of that language.

You have to earn way more respect in order to get me reading further. You
do not earn the respect writing emails.  You earn it doing patches, or
helping other people.

I am a developer. Read the message. Developers could earn some respect for themselves by not being so arrogant and dismissive. This is my helpful suggestion. The fact that you did not even read my message and yet felt justified to send me a chiding email exactly illustrates my point.
