It /is/ plain English; system-start is a compound
adjective of clef.  Whether it is hyphenated or not is
a matter of personal preference.  Rather than argue
such a minor detail I'll change it to "clefs at the start
of systems."  I'll not rerun make doc though, as this
is an overnight run on my laptop.
