This sounds a nice idea, but I don't know how to do this, I started (re)reading Erik Sandberg's thesis and then guess it'll be easy to dig out a starting point from current Lily code. BTW writing an exporter (be it to xml or other) would be a good excuse for starting documenting this in Extending manual.
