Hey all, Following up to my comment on the tracker, I'd like to not push this until everyone has had a chance to think through David's e-mails about 2.18. I anticipate this needing 2-3 months of user testing to catch and fix any bugs. Given that this is my first big patch since August, it'll likely take me another 6-7 months to do the next phase on top of this patch. Comfortably after 2.18 (hopefully).
I am confident in the patch and think it is a step in the right direction for numerous reasons, but it's obviously not worth pushing it if people want to get 2.18 out in the next couple months. If I did push it, I'd send an e-mail to lilypond-user once the next development version came out encouraging people to compile big scores and report back any anomalies. I haven't seen any in my scores.
