One thing that doesn't fit my theory is Phil's report that changing almost
anything in the input file avoids the problem. If changing a few pitches
in the input avoids the problem, it might be a floating-point issue along
the lines of issue 3383.
My statement of "almost anything" was a little slap-dash. Basically,
deleting some of the instruments fix the problem - which ones seem to depend
on how many staff lines they have, and whether they're part of a staff
group. I got bored trying to work out what was causing the problem, but
would be more than willing to retry if it would help.
