I mean, mid-measure. I think. In German, we have "Taktstriche" and "Takte", and those are strictly separate entities. While there is the strange exception that _dancers_ call _beats_ "Takte" while musicians call them "Schläge". Makes me want to beat the dancers. Of course, it's not even really beats. "Slowfox hat meist einen langen und zwei kurze Takte".
