I guess you should just get rid of it; the version from the
repositories should be recent enough. Just make sure that
/usr/bin/fontforge is used instead of this one.
If you still have the directory from which this installation was
built, a `sudo make install` from that folder should do whatever is
necessary.

     sudo make uninstall
