The practice of using the dev/something branch is mentioned in the Contributors Guide, section 1.3. Summary for experienced developers, note on Git branches, "dev/foo: feel free to push any new branch name under dev/."


Sure, I was meaning the practice to prefix
the name with an additional person-specific
namespace after dev/, e.g. dev/eble/autoconf.
