The part of me that remembers the pain of trying to make syntax highlighting work with both pdfTeX and XeTeX disagrees strongly. Note that I personally haven’t objected to declaring LuaTeX supported. I do object to keeping XeTeX in that case. It will be used neither in CI, nor for the releases, nor by contributors locally (except if they have a setting for that in their environment, in which case, IMHO, they are shooting themselves in the foot and should stop doing that). So it will just carry a maintenance burden with almost no value. Jean
