I have had good success using AI for search applications.

And my experience is the exact opposite.
Fortunately, when I type a question into Google, the AI rephrases my
question into the question it is actually answering - which usually
bears precious little resemblance to what I actually want to know!
The problem is always getting past the AI misinformation to an actual
answer.
My only decent experience with AI is when a programming novice used it
to get a working example (in Excel VBA) of what he wanted, which helped
me understand his requirements.
And I then took the code, deleted the reams of boilerplate, and ended up
with something roughly one tenth the size.
(Oh - and how accurate it is I don't know, but somebody did an economic
analysis of the AI industry. In order to break even, they need to stick
a 0 on the end of their revenues, and get ten years life out of
datacentres which will be obsolete after three. OOPS!)
