Dear all,

The LSR (LilyPond Snippet Repository) was a small website hosted
at https://lsr.di.unimi.it where LilyPond users could find and
share lots of useful code snippets. Sebastiano, its creator,
recently announced he was no longer willing to keep it running.
Many thanks to him for maintaining it during a period of over
20 years.

As a replacement, I've set up a new LilyPond wiki, which
lives here:

  https://wiki.lilypond.community

It runs MediaWiki, the same wiki software as Wikipedia.
It was initialized by importing all LSR snippets. You can
search for your favorite snippets using the search box, or
browse all pages here:

  https://wiki.lilypond.community/wiki/Special:AllPages

Everyone can contribute snippets and this is very easy to do.
See the instructions here:

  https://wiki.lilypond.community/wiki/Help:Contributing

So, if you write some useful code, please take a minute to
contribute it!

Currently, the wiki is open for anyone to edit (even without an
account, and without approval of changes). I would prefer to keep
it like this because it keeps the friction low, although I'm open
to opinions on this point.

See here for more information about the wiki, including an Atom
feed of recent changes that you can follow if you'd like to review
them (and, e.g., revert spam if it occurs):

I would also like to ask if a few people could become administrators,
both on the wiki (having permissions such as deleting pages) and for
the server that runs it (SSH, cloud console and DNS access). There is
no work implied other than taking care of the thing in case I get hit
by a bus. If you could do this and I know I can trust you, please reply
privately and I'll give you access.

Best,
Jean
