I was having some strange problems which turned out to be due to having
an older Lilypond as well as a current one. After cleaning out all
Lilypond installations I re-compiled from CVS, added '.
lilypond-profile' to my '.bash_profile' file and then ended up
re-starting the computer. Now when I run Lilypond it is asking for
files:
lilyponddefs.tex (I put a copy in /usr/share/texmf/tex/lilypond/
lilyponddefs.ps (I put a copy in /usr/share/texmf/dvips/lilypond/
Now Lilypond is complaining about not finding 'feta20'. Before I try
something and perhaps repeat the problem I had before (it was a font
problem) could someone get me going in the right direction? The
web-page says:
TEXMF
To make sure that TeX and lilypond find data files (among others, .tex,
.mf, and .tfm), you have to set TEXMF to point to the lilypond data file
tree. A typical setting would be
{/usr/share/lilypond/1.6.0,{!!/usr/share/texmf}}
I understand that TEXMF needs to know where the stuff is but I don't
really understand the "typical setting" and exactly what I am supposed
to do with it.
Thanks,
-David Bobroff
