There actually wasn't any humor involved here. I was, apparently unsuccessfully, trying to use an analogy in order to express my surprise at the apparent unsuitability of LilyPond to deal with the request to use a different barline type rather than substitute manual drawing instructions and leaving LilyPond in the belief it is drawing a repeat bar. > Copied. It would likely not be a good idea to submit my comment to a joke magazine. >> Is there not at least a way to use the existing bar line engraving >> tools for doing the job? >> > > Sure! Well, if there is, it is much more likely to lead to results that will work fine at different staff sizes and font styles. Of course, there also is the question _why_ Kieren wants no repeat bar in this staff. If the answer to that is "oh, I want a repeat, and the Midi should have one as well, but the repeat bar LilyPond draws is too ugly for that", then replacing the stencil might actually be a more appropriate short-term fix than my reaction indicated. But the question then is: what kind of repeat bar _would_ be appropriate in a RhythmicStaff? And then see what it would take to make LilyPond use this consistently. -- David Kastrup _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
